BCA STADIUM (KOTAMBI)

The Baroda Cricket Association Stadium (BCA Stadium) or Kotambi Stadium, also known as the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium is an international cricket stadium in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It opened on 22 December 2024 and organised a three match one day international series between the Indian and West Indies women's teams. The stadium is the home ground for Baroda Cricket Association in the domestic circle. The ground hosted international cricket for the first time during West Indies women's tour of India in 2024. All three ODIs of the tour were played at this Stadium.

BCA STADIUM (KOTAMBI)Pitch Report

There is a very small sample size to get an understanding of the pitch. However, it is expected that a flat deck will be rolled out for the Indian team. The ball should come on to the bat nicely, and we can expect some fire crackers from Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli. Bowling first can be an advantage on this wicket, as the dew factor should be concerning while fielding under the lights.

BCA STADIUM (KOTAMBI) Pitch Report

ODI Match Pitch Report and Toss Factor:

The pitch at Kotambi Stadium is a grass-based surface that generally favours batsmen, particularly during the first half of the match. Early on, the wicket offers true bounce and good carry, allowing stroke makers to play through the line with confidence. Batters who settle quickly can score freely, as the ball comes nicely onto the bat and the outfield is fast enough to reward timing. As the match progresses, the surface tends to slow down, with spinners getting more grip and seamers relying on cutters rather than pace. This shift makes middle over bowling crucial, especially for teams defending a total. Dew becomes a major factor in evening games, often neutralizing spin and making it harder for bowlers to grip the ball. Chasing sides can benefit significantly under lights, provided they manage the early overs smartly and preserve wickets for the finish. As of now the ground has witnessed just 1 match where the team batting first has won none and the team chasing won 1 match.
