ARUN JAITLEY STADIUM (NEW DELHI)

Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, being near the Kotla fort, it is the second oldest international cricket stadium still functional in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. Home to the Delhi Ranji team and the Delhi Daredevils, the Feroz Shah Kotla, is the second oldest international cricket stadium in India. The stadium gets its name from its location. It is in the vicinity of the Feroz Shah Kotla, a fortress built by Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq. Having been established in 1883, the ground has undergone some heavy reconstruction over the years. Colloquially, the locals also call the stadium 'Kotla', which literally means citadel or fortress. The first international game here was a Test match between India and the West Indies in 1948.

In 1883, the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium was established near Kotla Fort. On 12 September 2019, the name of Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium was changed to Arun Jaitley Stadium. Total capacity is 41820. Initially, on the pitch of Arun Jaitley Stadium, you get to see the light grass. In the first sessions of the first innings of the Test match top-order batsmen need to be careful with the swing bowling. But after first session, it becomes easy to bat here and there can be made big scores as here an average of 350+ runs are scored in the first innings. Good scores are seen here in the second and third innings as well. Here you will get to see the game till the last day. Spinners get lots of help on the fourth and fifth days and on this ground, Anil Kumble made a record of taking 10 wickets in an innings.
